The privacy of your personal data is important to Fortress Services Pty Ltd t/a Fortress Recruitment (Fortress) and we only seek to collect personal information that is necessary for the proper performance of our tasks and functions.  So far as is practicable, we may decline to collect unsolicited personal information from or about you and may take such measures as we think are proportionate to purge it from our systems.

Personal information that we collect and hold usually falls into the following categories:

  • Candidate information submitted and obtained from the candidate and other sources in connection with applications for work including, but not limited to, your name, e-mail address, location information and contact telephone number;

  • Information submitted and obtained in relation to absences from work due to leave, illness or other causes;
  • Information obtained to assist in managing client and business relationships;
  • Information relating to your current and previous employment;

Curriculum Vitae ("CV")
You can choose to submit your CV to us via this website.  You may choose to do this so that we can consider you for future recruitment positions as and when they come in, or in relation to a specific job opportunity that we have posted on our website or discussed with you by telephone or e-mail correspondence. Your CV will be e-mailed directly to our recruitment consultants who will process your application and enter your details onto our database. This database, including the information relating to you, can only be accessed by Fortress’ recruitment consultants.

You have the right at any time to ask us for a copy of the CV that you have supplied to us.  However, please note that we have the right to charge a small fee for this service. If you would like to make a request for information, please contact [email protected].

Your CV will be sent to prospective employers only after you have given us your prior consent.

Cookies

We may also collect information using cookies (a small file placed on your hard drive), web beacons or similar technologies. These methods permit us to collect various types of information, including which pages you visit, which of our email messages you read, and other information.   This information is used to assist us in ensuring that our website best meets our clients’ needs.

We contract out a number of services from time to time.  Our contractors may see some of your personal information.  Typically our contractors would include:

Trans-Border Data Flows
We cannot guarantee that any overseas recipient of your personal information will protect it to the standard to which it would be protected in Australia or the European Economic Area (as appropriate).  The costs and difficulties of enforcement of privacy rights in foreign jurisdictions and the impracticability of attempting to enforce such rights in some jurisdictions will, mean that in some instances, we will need to seek your consent to disclosure into a jurisdiction in place of seeking an assurance of protection from the overseas jurisdiction.

Please note that we are also an international business and your data may be passed to our international offices.  By providing us with your information you agree that we may send it to an international office outside your jurisdiction.  Our website is hosted on servers in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Access
Subject to some exceptions that we can provide you details of if requested, you can gain access to the personal information that we hold about you.  

We do refuse access if it would interfere with the privacy rights of other persons or if it breaches any confidentiality that attaches to that information.

If you wish to obtain access to your personal information you should contact our Privacy Co-ordinator.  You will need to be in a position to verify your identity.

We might impose a moderate charge in providing access.  Our Privacy Co-ordinator would discuss these with you.

You should also anticipate that it may take a little time to process your application for access as there may be a need to retrieve information from storage and review information in order to determine what information may be provided.
